STAINLESS STEEL DOUBLE DETENTION BUNK
G2’s KryptoMax® stainless steel double detention bunk is built of heavy duty 12 gauge Type 304 stainless steel standard. It is optionally available with painted or powder coated finish.
The frame on our fully-welded stainless steel double detention bunk is floor-mounted and designed specifically for intensive use in corrections, detention centers, holding centers, jails, prisons, and other institutions. It is also available as a bolt-together version (vs. one-piece, fully-welded) for compact shipping or storage options. Wall-mount options are available to further secure the bed.
The durable gas tungsten arc welded (GTAW) stainless steel bunk bed version resists blood, feces, and other contaminants. The stainless steel frame can be cleaned with heavy-duty cleansers such as chlorine-based cleaners that would damage other beds or finishes.
Stainless steel double detention bunks withstand the issues that powder-coated or plastic bed frames have such as problems with disinfection cleaner corrosion, peeling/scratched paint, and surfaces prone to vandalism.
The frame is sized and ready for common institutional mattresses.

CONSTRUCTION:
The standard frame configuration on the double detention bed is constructed of sturdy 1/8” thick 2”x2” stainless steel angle with a 1/8″ diameter floor mounting hole for each foot.
The mattress supports are heavy 12 gauge stainless steel which are gas tungsten arc welded (GTAW, also known as TIG-welded) to the frame creating an overall solid design for each bunk.
The standard double detention bunk is durable stainless steel with no paint to wear or scratch. However, this bunk is also available with painted or powdercoated steel construction instead of stainless steel. Painted or powder coated steel is not as resilient as stainless, but can offer some initial cost savings to meet budget requirements.
Optional stainless steel under-bunk drawers are available and can be mounted to the underside of the bottom bunk for secure, out-of-the-way storage. Our top quality, easy to install, intensive-use detention double bunks are perfect for meeting your space-saving jail or prison needs.
